このバッグは、昨年の春にロンハーマンで見つけたの
それでこれだったら私も編めるかなあ？って思って
普段使わない編み物本を取り出して
見よう見まねで編んでみたの
革ひもで編む自信がなかったから
家にあった麻紐を使って編んでみたのね
うち袋を入れたら可愛いから
最初はロンハーマンと同じ水色にしようと思ったんだけど
周りの人にも相談して
ピンクのほうが可愛いってことになって
ピンクにしたの
こうやってね、
写真を見て
自分で編み方を考えて
周りの人にも相談しながら
作品に仕上げる
っていうのがすごく楽しい
今はなかなか時間がないけど
周りの人に相談するとなぜ良いかというとね
2人の意見が一致したときに良い成果を生むからなんだ
お互いの意見が割れたときはやめとく
一致したらそれでいく
だから
「こんなんどう？」
って向こうから言ってくれるようなフランクな人がいい
そこは遠慮せず正直になってもらいたい
それがうまくいくコツだから( ´艸｀)
そうそう、また話が逸れた～
このバッグのタイトルを決めるときに
あれ？七宝編みって英語でなんて言うの？
って調べたら
七宝って「ななつのたから」でしょ？
ところが～( ；∀；)
そんな言葉で検索しても出てこないのよ
あれと一緒よ

だって、どっちもその人の感性で名前なんて変わるじゃない？？
で、まだ新人で全然英語用語も日本語用語も知らなくて
探し方も下手だから
七宝編みの英語の名前も
なかなか見つからなくて困った困った
で、ふと、
たまたま
ほんとにたまたま見つかったのよ～
あれどうやって見つけ出したかもうわからない
その
見つけた名前が
Lover's Knot

そうなんだ～、向こうではそう言うんだ～って思って

で、しばらくして少しずつ英語用語にも慣れてきて
資料も集まりだして
ある日、ふとパラパラとめくってた古い古いハレー彗星のような本に
Solomon's Knot
って書いてある
え～、私まさかまさか間違えたの～？？って焦ってしまって
両方をググってみました
結果はSolomon's Knotのほうが多かった
でも、Lover's Knotもあったし
なにより
Love Knotもあったのよ～( ´艸｀)
へへーん、どうだ、見たか、スザンナけっこうすごいだろ？？(^_-)-☆

とまあそういうわけで
日本語と英語で呼び名が違う時
英語名を探すの結構大変、というお話でした( ´艸｀)

「今はSolomon's KnotよりLove Knotのほうが日本では認知度があるみたいですよ～」
っていう話が届きまして( ´艸｀)
